Why I'm raising Money: This year I have challenged myself to complete the Keswick to Barrow!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the event, the Keswick to Barrow is an annual sponsored walk. This year it will take place on Saturday 11th May. The route is 40 miles and takes you through the beautiful Lake District. It is walked in a single day, starting at approx. 05:30am. More details, including the route, can be found on their website https://keswick2barrow.co.uk
I will be walking to raise money for Cancer Care UK, in honour of my amazing Dad, who we lost to bowel cancer in September. This amazing charity provides free therapies for people in South Cumbria and Lancashire, who have been affected by cancer or unexpected bereavement. They rely on donations to stay up and running and I cannot think of a better charity to give back to.
The last time I walked the K2B was roughly 25 years ago and since then haven't walked much further than the fridge and back! However, training started on 1st January and is going well. I feel motivated and focused on the challenge. I am ready to feel proud of an achievement and I have a feeling my Dad would be super proud also.
If you can spare a quid or two (or more) to sponsor me, I will be so grateful and you will be donating to a charity who are so valuable to families such as my own and hundreds of others in the local area, who are going through the hardest time of their life.
Wish me luck, I am going to need it!

All donations are made to the Keswick to Barrow Walk Charity. A percentage of this donation will be used to fund the cost of the walk and support local charities in South Cumbria/North Lancashire.
